Zora Maxine (Six) Belcher, 82, of Tucson, AZ, passed away peacefully Fri, Oct 16, with her family at her side.
Zora was born May 22, 1927 in Kalkaska County, to Milton and Ila (Sieting) Six.
She married Harold O. Belcher Oct 5, 1947 in Kalkaska - where together they raised three children.
Zora loved various sports and activities including snowmobiling, boating, water skiing, bowling, basketball, hiking, traveling in her mini, and working at national parks.
Her favorite national park was the Grand Canyon - with its vast beauty.
Zora competed in the Senior Olympics; her events were billiards and pinochle. Having pitched on a softball league, she especially enjoyed following the Diamondbacks and Tigers.
For the last 34 years, Zora was drawn to the sunshine and dry climate of Arizona. She had lived in Tucson since 2005, where she was a member of St Paul's United Methodist Church.
Zora traveled across the country, often with her canine companions to be with family and friends.
Surviving are her loving children; Sandra Spencer of Rapid City, Kris Belcher of Traverse City, and Craig Belcher and wife Linda Vienneau of Madison, NH; her sister, Beatrice Campbell; brother, Leo Six; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Zora is additionally survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Zora were her parents; her husband, Harold; brother, Francis Arlo Six, and sisters, Ruth Kniss and Vada Bloom.
A memorial service will be held Sat, Nov 7, at 11 am at the Kalkaska United Methodist Church.
