Wilma O. Autenrieth, 77, of Independence, MO, and formerly of Vandalia, died on Mon, Jul 20, 2009.
Services were held at 10am on Thursday at Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Independence. Burial was in Leavenworth, Kan. Marts Memorial Service in Kansas City, MO was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Autenrieth was born on Jul 17, 1932, in Ceresco, MI, the daughter of Glenn and Gladys Stampfler. She married LeRoy Autenrieth of Vandalia at West Eckford Missionary Church in Marshall, MI.
She graduated from Spring Arbor Junior College in Spring Arbor, MI, and Greenville College. She was an elementary school teacher for many years, teaching in Vandalia; Battle Creek, MI; Jackson, MI; and Aledo, finishing her career in Vandalia. After teaching, she worked in the food service department at Greenville College before retiring. She was involved in many civic and church activities. She taught children’s church and supported missions through her local churches. She volunteered with the Salvation Army, was a member of the Gideons and Kiwanis, and served a term as president of the Greenville Kiwanis. Along with her husband, she was very active in the Christian Motorcycle Association (Cycle Saints #317 and SwordBearers for Christ #49) and Goldwing Road Ridres (1-70 Road Riders of Illinois, Chapter U). She enjoyed music, reading and all types of needlework. She especially enjoyed spending time cooking, playing table games and camping with her husband, children, grandchildren and many friends.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Cheryl and her husband Carl Whitby of Independence, MO, Carol and her husband Bill Wilcoxen of Little York, and Ann Dalton of Canton; son Kevin Autenriety and his wife Sharon Autenrieth of Maryville; grandchildren Christopher Whitby and his wife Tiffany, Curtis Whitby and Craig Whitby; Adam Dalton and his wife, Kara, and Jennifer Dalton; and Samuel, Supriya, Will, Darcy, and Tess Autenrieth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Eloise Dargen of Racine, WI.
