Funeral services for William H. Roop, 55, of 1055 Washington, Traverse City will be held at 2pm Sat at Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley, Rev. Bert Duncan officiating, with burial in Kingsley Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Roop, an employee of Traverse City parks and recreation department, died early Wed morning at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City after a short illness.
He was born Mar 9, 1910 at Summit City, son of the late Jacob and Nancy Roop, was employed at Parts Mfg Co. in Traverse City for several years and had been with the city parks and recreation department for the past nine years.
On Jun 15, 1937 he was married to Ruth Aldridge, who survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Lena) Huston of Manton; a son, Delbert of Traverse City; five grandchildren; three brothers, George of Traverse City, Ray of Mayville, and Edward of Kingsley; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Collins of Marshall and Mrs. William (Daisy) Krage of Grayling; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
