William R. Scott, 69, of Rapid City, died Sun, Jul 3, 1994, at Munson Medical Center.
Mr. Scott had been a lifelong resident of the Rapid City area, and served in the Army during WWII. Prior to his retirement in 1978, he was employed by Cone Drive Gear Company in Traverse City. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and golf.
Born in Traverse City on Jun 28, 1925, he was the son of Homer and Mable McNamara Scott. On Oct 19, 1973, in Traverse City, he was married to Beverly Throop who survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Mable Scott of Kalkaska; five stepsons, Steven Throop of Utica, Tim Throop of Brazil, Rod and Guy Throop both of Traverse City, and Dan Throop of Acme; three brothers, Homer Carl (Alice) Scott of South Boardman, Charles (Margaret) Scott of Traverse City, and Alan (Norena) Scott of Rapid City; four sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Irene) Cooper of Traverse City, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Hoover of Hanover, Mrs. Jack (Arlene) Bloxom of St. Ignace, and Mrs. Norman (Carol) Sieting of Rapid City; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and friends.
