William M. "Bill" Thomas, 61, of Carsonville died Tuesday, Dec 3, 2002, in McKenzie Memorial Hospital in Sandusky.
He was born Feb 14, 1941, in Yale, the son of the late William and Charlotte Badgero Thomas.
He was a lifelong area resident and a 1959 graduate of Carsonville High School. He received his associates degree in law enforcement from St. Clair County Community College.
William married Carolyn Stacy on Apr 27, 1963, in Port Sanilac.
He retired as a sergeant with the Sanilac County Sheriff Department after more than 20 years of service and was currently working as a rural mail carrier.
He was a member of the Port Sanilac Masons and the Sanilac County Law Enforcement Association. He was a past member of the Port Sanilac Lions. He served on the Carsonville Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service and was a past councilman and mayor of Carsonville.
He also coached Little League in Carsonville for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his son, William J (Sondra) Thomas of TX; his daughter, Julie (Leland) Rooney of Ann Arbor; his son Timoth (Kristen) Thomas of IL; his daughter, Theresa Thomas of Lexington; his brothers, Charles Thomas of Port Huron and Donald Thomas of Port Sanilac; his sisters, Grace Ann Kincaid of Deckerville, Cynthia Dew of Port Sanilac and Linda Corso of Burtchville Township; five grandchildren, Kelly, Leland, Emily, Madeline, and William M; and his special uncle, Glen Badgero of Croswell.
Visitation will be 3 to 9 pm today and 1 to 9 pm Friday in Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky.
Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday in Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky. the Rev. Catherine Hiner will officiate.
Burial will be in the Washington Township Cemetery in Carsonville.
