William "Bill" Kerridge, 97 years young, passed away peacefully Jan 2, 2001, at Larson Care Center in Cheboygan.
Bill was an operating engineer for 57 years before his retirement. He spent all of his life in northern Michigan. Bill was a farmer by trade in Bliss Township. As a small child, he crossed the Straits of Mackinaw on a raft with his family of 13, ending up in the Bliss area. he lived most of his life in Bliss, leaving only to join the logging era in the Upper Peninsula, then returning to purchase the family homestead from his father.
Bill is survived by daughters Linda Lou Kerridge of Gaylord, Ramona (Bob) Fay Sr of Petoskey, Patsy (Ellwyn) Keiser of Levering and son William D (Diana) of Hesperia. He leaves 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife Julia in 1981, grandson Ezzy Keiser, two great granddaughters, and 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Bill will be at 2 pm, Jan12 at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. Pastor Bill Mindel will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday evening at Stone Funeral Home.
