William J. Jones, 80, a retired farmer of 209 N. Okemos, died today at a Lansing hospital. He was a veteran of WWI and a lifelong resident of the area.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Amanda; a son, Norvell of Lansing; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bivins of Rockford; three brothers, Norvell and James of Mason and Francis of Evart; a sister, Mrs. Mary Jones of Mason; five stepsons, Loren Fineout of Potterville, Ray Howe Jr of Columbus, GA, and Robert, Joe and Jim Howe, all of Mason; and three stepdaughters, Mrs. Dorothy Garfield of Ft. Wayne, IN, Mrs. Loretta Hammell of Lansing and Mrs. Alice Morse of Vermontville.
Services will be at 2 pm Thursday at Jewett Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
