William E. Magley, 70, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Aug 6, 1994, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Magley moved to Kalkaska in 1963 from Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict, and was later employed in pipeline construction. He was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ, the Fleet Reserve Association, the East Jordan Sportsman's Club, and a former member of the Laborers Local in Traverse City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping.
Born in LaPorte, IN on Sep 1, 1923, he was the son of William C. and Rose Kyler Magley. On Jan 22, 1963, in Kalkaska, he married Charlotte Stuck, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, David Magley of Kalkaska and Darin Magley of Ionia; six brothers, Carl of Ft. Wayne, IN, Patrick of Kingsley, Avery of LaGrange, IN, John of Kalkaska, Jake of Wolcottville, IN, and Randy of Fife Lake; one sister, Florence Cook of Ft. Wayne, IN; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tue, Aug 9, 1994, at the Kalkaska Church of Christ. E. Dan Johnson officiated. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
Military rites were performed by Land O'Lakes V.F.W. Post 8684.
