William D Hilt, 70, of Kalkaska, passed away on Mar 17, 2002, at his home. He was born on Jul 13, 1931, in Holiday Cove, WV, the son of Carl and Gertrude (Henry) Hilt.
William married Marie Halsey on Sep 3, 1983, in Kalkaska.
He retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years of service as a machinist. William and Marie moved to Kalkaska two years ago from Sterling Heights.
William is survived by his loving family including his wife Marie; children Vickie (Art) Doyle of Kalkaska, Holly Hilt of Attica, Dianne Sumter of Algonac; stepsons Tom (Wendy) Darling and Leon (Karen) Darling, all of Beattyville, KY; sister Jane Postalwaite of Warrensburg, MO; and five grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his son William Howard Hilt in 1971.
Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home.
