William B. Silvers, 80, of 124 E. Kingman Ave, died Saturday afternoon at Community Hospital. He had been in ill health for two years, spending six months at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility, and had been a patient at the hospital for one day.
He was born in Trenton, IN and came to Battle Creek from Mesick in 1944. He worked for the AB Stove Co until it was closed about 1960 and worked as a custodian for the Springfield Public Schools, retiring in 1968.
He is survived by a son, William Silvers of 156 ½ Grenville Ave, daughters, Marion Green of Sherwood, Mrs. Shirley Johnson of the Kingman Avenue address and Mrs. Betty Gordy of Ceresco; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren, sisters, Mrs. Mildred Powers of Battle Creek; and a brother, Melvin Silvers of Grand Rapids.
Services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday at Royal Funeral Home.
