William A. Byers, 28, of Kingsley, died Tue, Jul 29, 1997, at University of Southern California Medical Center in San Diego.
Formerly of Kalkaska and a 1987 Kalkaska High School graduate, he had been a resident of Kingsley since 1995. He attended East Coast Bible College in Charlotte, NC.
Mr. Byers was employed by Michigan Message Center as a telecommunicator. He was associate pastor and member of Lighthouse Church of God. He was a collector of Christian contemporary music and comic books, and he loved children.
Born in Ann Arbor on May 12, 1969, he was the son of Glenn S. and Sharon F (Bancroft) Byers. Preceding him in death were his grandparents.
Surviving are his parents of Kalkaska; brothers, Matthew (Beverly) Byers of Beulah, and Ryan Byers of Kalkaska; sisters, Jennifer (John) Davis, Jodie, Karla, and Stephanie Byers, all of Kalkaska.
Funeral services were held Mon, Aug 4, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. The Rev. Johnathan Gray officiated. Burial was in Sherman Mesick Memorial Park.
