Wendy Ann Slade, 49, died Sun, May 13, 2001, at home.
She had been a resident of Kewadin for the past two and one half years. Prior to that, she lived in Illinois and several Michigan communities including Stevensville, Jackson, and Midland.
Mrs. Slade was born Jun 12, 1951, in Bay City to Charles and Donna (Rushlow) Smith. On Jun 26, 1976, she was married in Watervliet to Gerald Slade who survives.
She was a special education teacher in Kalkaska and special education teachers' consultant in Kendall County Special Education Cooperative and Lakeshore School District in southwest Michigan. She enjoyed traveling.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter Valerie Slade of Lansing; son Kenneth Slade of Mt Pleasant; her parents Kenneth and Donna Villermain of Charlevoix; father Charles Smith of Bay City; sisters Suzette (Dennis) Daly, and Michelle (Jerry) Shea of Charlevoix; and brother Joseph Smith of Centerville, VA.
Funeral services were May 17 at the Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
