Wayne Edward Conner, 60, of Kalkaska, passed away unexpectedly on Fri, Apr 6, 2012 at his home. Born in Flint, on Feb 3, 1952, Mr. Conner was the son of the late Chester and Pauline (Gerou) Conner.
A family man at heart, he was always there for his family. Wayne especially loved spending time with his grandkids, including them in his endeavor to build a garage, making it a family project to teach his grandchildren every step. He enjoyed cookouts with family and friends, bumping and painting cars, and chopping wood with Richie. He was affectionately known as "Papa Wayne" to many.
Wayne is survived by his children; Christy (Chris) Kotowsky, Amanda Conner, and Jonathan (Richard Emery) Conner; grandchildren, Kurtis, James, Emily, Jefferey, Jacob, Annie, and Elyssa; the mother of his children, Christie Conner; siblings, Diane Fenner, Sandra Steinquist, Mike Conner, Michelle Fritch, and Michael Dean; many nieces and nephews, friends, and all those who knew "Papa Wayne".
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rosemary Meisenar.
Visitation was from 6 to 9pm on Tue, Apr 10 at Kalkaska Funeral Home, 152 S. Cedar St, (US 131), Kalkaska. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wed, Apr 11 in the Chapel of Kalkaska Funeral Home with Mr. Jeff Badgero officiating. Final visitation will begin at 10 am.
