Wayne A. Aldridge, 62 of Springfield Township, Kalkaska County (Fife Lake), passed away suddenly Monday night at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, Kalkaska, after a lingering illness. He was born January 6, 1911, in Cadillac, the son of Thomas and Bessie Aldridge. He was united in marriage to the former Madalene Cummings December 4, 1937. Mr. Aldridge was a tool and die maker at Springfield Tool and Die Co. of Dearborn until 1944 when he served for six months in the US Army. Following discharge he moved to Fife Lake and was employed as a tool and die maker by the Parsons Corp in Traverse City until his retirement in 1965 due to poor health. Mr. Aldridge was a member of the South Boardman Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Madalene of Fife Lake, are three daughters, Mrs. David (Shirley) Maday of Grand Rapids, Gail Aldridge, and Mrs. Don (Beth) LaBonte both of Traverse City; one son, Michael of Fife Lake; eight grandchildren; one brother, Boyd of Fenton; and nieces and nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Hamilton and Keith Aldridge.
Funeral services will be Thu at 2pm from the Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley, the Rev. Oscar Coolbaugh officiating. Interment will be made in Clark Cemetery, Springfield Township, Fife Lake and memorials may be directed to the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, Kalkaska.
