Walter Zimmerman, age 70 of Findlay, died at Blanchard Valley Hospital under Bridge Hospice Care on Monday Nov. 9, 2015 at 10:00pm. He was born Oct. 25, 1945 in Bremerton, WA to Walter Zimmerman Sr. and Monica (Tahibeaux) Zimmerman. He married Marsha Kay Carpenter and she preceded him in death. Walter married Marlene (Naus) Zimmerman in 1968 and she survives in Findlay.
Mr. Zimmerman is survived by a son Craig (Mary) Zimmerman, Tiffin, daughter Andrea Baker, Findlay, 5 grandchildren Andrew Zimmerman, Amanda (Chaz) Wyatt, Adam Zimmerman, Cassidy Baker, Matthew Baker, brother Robert (Monika) Zimmerman, Findlay, 2 sisters, Doris (Jim) Dixon, West Palm Beach, FL, Carol (Bill) Mulholland, McGuffy. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sons Brian Zimmerman and Larry Zimmerman.
Mr. Zimmerman was a member of Forest United Methodist Church. He graduated from Kenton High School. Mr. Zimmerman was a US Veteran serving as a military policeman in the Airforce. He retired from the former Rockwell as an expediter. Mr. Zimmerman worked for Findlay City Schools in the Maintenance Dept. and Sanoh Industrial Company as a machinist.
For hobbies he enjoyed trains, woodworking and assembling model cars. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR fan.
A funeral service will be held Friday Nov. 13, 2015 at 11:00am in CLARK SHIELDS Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Vandeneynde officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson Center Cemetery, Wyandot County.
