Virginia Marie (Ginny) Kirk was born on November 1, 1925 and in lived in Cadillac all her life, except the last few years where she lived closer to her family. She passed on to meet her Lord and Savior on May 19, 2019 at 93 years of age.
Virginia graduated from Cadillac High School in 1943. She worked as a Red Cross Nurse’s Aide at Mercy Hospital and at Michigan Bell Telephone Company as an operator. During WWII she made deicers for aircraft at B.F. Goodrich Plant in Cadillac.
Virginia married the love of her life, Ronald Kirk, on September 25, 1948, and they have one son, Larry Kirk. Ron worked as a foreman for Consumers Power. Ginny was a stay at home mother, and later worked at the Wexford County Council on Aging and retired after being a salesclerk at Crystal Flash in Cadillac. Virginia was a long-time member of Boon Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Larry, and wife Joan, three grandchildren Travis and Becky Kirk, Tracy and Kevin Allers, and Trisha and Collin Wallace, nine great-grandchildren, and many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, and brother-in-law.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Ron in 1977, parents Fred and Olga Miller, grandparents Viva and Flora Miller and Lene and Ole Olson, brother Keith and Pat Miller, in-laws Harold and Lavada Kirk, and Phyllis Hawkins.
Virginia and Ron loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, gardening and life in the country. Virginia loved spending time with her grandchildren, Travis, Tracy, and Trisha.
Celebration of her life will be on Thursday May 23, 2019, 11:00am at Peterson Funeral & Cremation Services, 205 E. Cass St., Cadillac, Michigan 49601, with Larry Kirk officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service, 10:00am to 11:00 am, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Selma Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Re-Purposed Assisted Living, 1260 Cricklewood St. SW, Wyoming, MI 49509, where Virginia was cared for so well the last few years of her life.
