Virginia L. Burgess, 82, of Brown City, died February 4, 2013. She was born Sept. 2, 1930 in Cadillac, MI to Donald and Mabel Holbrook. She graduated from Kent City High School and on Sept 23, 1950 married to Elton Burgess.
A homemaker and mother Virginia had also worked at Marion’s Studio and sold Tupperware for several years. She had been an active member of the Omard and the Brown City United Methodist Churches. She especially enjoyed the choir. She enjoyed her time with family and grandchildren.
She is survived by five children: Karen (Mike) Cleary, Klawock, Alaska, Duane (Janice) Burgess, Caro, Paul Burgess, Brown City, Alan (Vicki) Burgess, Brown City, Marilyn Burgess and spouse Craig Forgaard, Gustavus, Alaska, eight grandchildren: Julie, Lori, Brian, Paul, Jackie, Jeremy, Michelle, and Eric, five great-grandchildren, sisters: Marsha and Rainey.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elton and infant twins.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb 8, 2013 at Carman Funeral Home.
Burial followed in Omard Cemetery.
