Virginia Alice Sachar of Jackson died on Sun, Jan 13, 2002, following a brief illness.
Alice was born Feb 27, 1924, in Kalkaska, the elder daughter of Goldie (Mosley) and George Tolman, who later served as sheriff of Kalkaska County. Alice graduated from Kalkaska High School, and her family relocated to Jackson shortly thereafter. Alice is survived by her husband Frank of 56 years; daughters, Melanie (Rosendo) Santana and Beverly Sachar; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren and sister Marjorie (Maurice) Kirwen, all of Jackson. Her love touched many cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends, especially those from her childhood: Jane King, Pearl Wind, and Audrey Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral and internment took place in Jackson on Jan 16, 2002. Memorial contributions may be made in Alice's name to The Cascades Humane Society, 624 N Mechanic Street, Jackson, MI 49202.
