“I’m so tired and I want to go home.” And so she did on the morning of September 14, 2016 at Munson Medical Center with family by her side, Victoria Virginia (Green) Scriver, 71, left this world to join her late husband, Alfred Joseph Scriver Sr.
Victoria, or Vicki, as she was known, was born May 6, 1945 in Traverse City to parents, Earl and Virginia (Hanna) Green. She grew up with her seven siblings, David Earl, Jerry Otis, Beverly Yvonne, Robert Mose, Minnie Mitilla, Betty Jane, and Paula Kay.
Victoria and Alfred were married on January 17, 1964 in Elk Rapids. Together they raised their four children, Alfred Joseph Jr, Irene Mary, Wanda Kay, and Charles Roy, along with grandson, Adam Michael.
Vicki was a stay at home but she loved her VFW binges and an occasional trip to the casino. She could shop anywhere or anytime and was always up for a good card game or bowling with the family and friends. Crossword puzzle books were her favorite. She loved to have fun and had a great sense of humor.
After her husband died in 2007, Vicki’s health began to decline, and for the last four years she was bedridden. She was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Wanda, and grandson, Kyle Michael. Her great grandson Raymond Michael always made her smile when he visited his “Gigi”.
She is survived by her children; her brother, Robert (Patricia) Green, of Muskegon; sisters, Betty (Hank) Shawnoskey, and Paula (Larry) Gauthier of Traverse City; plus 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant son, Thomas DeWitt; siblings, David Earl, Jerry Otis, Beverly Yvonne Schaub, and Minnie Mitilla Gagon; and sisters in law, Donna (Flees) Green, and Shirlee (Sobbry) Green.
Cremation has taken place, and family graveside services will be held Fri, September 30, at 11am, at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City.
