Victor G. "Vic" Cody, 85, of Traverse City, died Wed, Jun 25, 2003, at his home.
Born in Bay City on Dec 28, 1917, he was the son of the late Nelson and Mary (Kerr) Cody. On Oct 5, 1946, in Bay City, he married the former Alberta "Bert" Bowden.
A resident of Traverse City since 1977, Vic retired from General Motors Corp. as foreman in the Gray Iron Foundry after 28 years of service.
Vic was a veteran of WWII, serving as a surgical tech and carbine expert in the US Army during the Pacific Theater. He was also a member of the Kalkaska Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
Vic is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Albert "Bert" Cody, of Traverse City; daughters, Sherry (Robert) Pohlman of Traverse City and Char (Gene) McGlone of FL; son, Steven (Andria) Cody of Minn.; grandchildren, Susan (David) Strudgeon, Troy (Jenny) Marx, Chelsea Richards, Tyler Cody, and Caitlyn Cody; great grandchildren, Mike and Sam Strudgeon, James and Isaac Marx; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm on Sat, Jul 5, 2003, at Kalkaska United Methodist Church, where the family will receive friends from 1 pm until the time of service. The Rev. Robert Stark will officiate.
Burial will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vic's name to Kalkaska United Methodist Church or Munson Hospice.
