Memorial services for Vernon Keith Colman, a real estate broker and developer instrumental in the development of Birch Bay Village, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the family home, 5503 Haida Way, Blaine, with the Rev. Donald E. Walter officiating.

Mr. Colman, 63, died Sunday in Blaine after a long illness. The body was cremated.

He was born Aug 18, 1924, in Tacoma and lived in Seattle from 1929 to 1966 and in Birch Bay for 22 years. He was a graduate of West Seattle High School and the University of Washington.

Mr. Colman was a member of Seattle Rotary Club No. 4, Sigma Chi Fraternity and the Washington Athletic Club. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and served as president of Washington Arms Collectors, Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Doreen, of the family home; a son, Kenneth Coleman of Blaine; two daughters, Colleen Hansen of Birch Bay and Christine of Seattle; a sister, Audrey Burdett, of Seattle; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Medical Flight Helicopter, in care of St. Luke’s General Hospital, 809 E. Chestnut St., Bellingham, WA 98225, or to Children’s Orthopedic Hospital, P.O. Box C-5371, Seattle, WA 98105.
