Vernon E Frye, 90, of Kalkaska passed away Apr 4, 2004, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
He was born Nov 3, 1913, in Kalkaska County, the son of Claude and Lotta (McKinnis) Frye.
Surviving Vernon are his wife, Naomi Frye, of Kalkaska; daughter, Verna D (James "Bill") Stephens of Kalkaska; grandchildren, Todd M Stephens and Darci A (Michael) Fitch of Kalkaska; great granddaughters, Morgan and Alaina Fitch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lotta Frye; sister, Gertrude Wood; and brother, Irving Frye.
He retired from the Michigan State Highway Department in 1976 after 30 years of service.
Funeral services were held Apr 7 at the Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
