Mrs. Verna B. Homan, 74, of Kalkaska, died Nov 5, 1998, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mrs. Homan resided in New York until 30 years ago, when she moved to Kalkaska. She was member of the Family of God Christian Fellowship, and had been active in civic events. She taught 4-H clowning, and enjoyed music and sewing.
Born in Allentown, PA on Oct 21, 1924, she was the daughter of Harry and Carrie Vogenitz Dotterer.
Surviving are sons Marv in Navarre of Bethlehem, PA, Bruce Navarre of Allentown, PA; and Tommy McKellar of Kalkaska; daughter Wendi Gonyer of Princeton, IN; stepson Tom McKellar of MO; stpedaughters Elaine Jaspers of Kentucky, Virginia Pilford of Cadillac and Kay Theum of TX; brothers Ray Allen of TN and Warren Dotterer of AZ; sisters Erma Vagar, Jean Cole, and Gloria Logan, all of NJ, Doris Emery of PA, and Marian Stone of FL; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Brothers Pelton Peters and Harry Dotterer, and sister Shirley Peters preceded her in death.
Memorial services were held Nov 8 at Family of God Christian Fellowship. Pastor James Haglar officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
