Veretta "Jean" Fern (Riley) Hollister, 75, of Battle Creek, died May 27, 2002, at Battle Creek Health System. She was born Mar 29, 1927 in Mesick to Soloman Jan and Ella (Nelson) Riley.
Mrs. Hollister had lived in Bellevue for 27 years. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling on Eaglette's leagues, dancing, being with grandchildren and family and watching wildlife, and was a lifetime member of Battle Creek Eagle's Lodge. She had been a beautician for 50 years, retiring in 1994. Her husband Orville owned Hollister's Used Auto Parts in Bellevue. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Surviving are son Robert "Bob" MacQueen; daughters, Pamela James and Debora Jaskie all of Battle Creek; sisters Elma Wahley of E Leroy, Glenna Thornburg of Athens, Adeline Yaudes and Marry Tenny, both of Battle Creek; brothers, Jay Riley and Dan Riley of Sherwood; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband Orville, parents Soloman and Ella Riley, sister Georgia Thornburg and great granddaughter Kristen Caldwell.
Services were held May 30, at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service in Battle Creek. Pastor Leon Rayburn of Dexter Lake Church of God officiated. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery, Nashville, MI.
