Mrs. Vera M (Morris) Roote, 62, of Dearborn Heights, formerly of Kalkaska, died Mon, Sep 11, 1995, at Harper Hospital in Detroit.
Mrs. Roote spent her early years in Kalkaska and then lived in Wayne before moving to Dearborn Heights. Prior to her retirement in 1987, she was employed by the Royal Neighbors of American Insurance Company.
Born in Kalkaska on Dec 5, 1932, she was the daughter of John and Opal Lense Morris. On May 24, 1948, in Kalkaska, she married Glen Roote who preceded her in death on Feb 25, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin Roote of Dearborn Heights, and John Roote of Kalkaska; three daughters, Sandra Barron of St. Louis, MO, Glenda Roote of Dearborn heights, and Connie Orta of Lincoln Park; three brothers, Glenn, Robert, and Harold Morris all of Kalkaska; five sisters, Thelma Thomas and Doris McLean both of Kalkaska, Edith Dustin of Metamora, Jean Adkins of Westland, and Marilyn Strong of South Boardman; and eight grandchildren.
One daughter and one brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Thu, Sep 14, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges, pastor of the Peoples Church, officiated. Cremation followed funeral services.
