Vada Belle Bloom, age 82, of Yuma, AZ, formerly of Oscoda, MI, passed away on Wed, Aug 6, 2008 in Yuma, AZ, where she had lived for three years. Vada was born on Oct 17, 1925 in Kalkaska, MI. Vada truly enjoyed family time, playing bingo, and baking. For many years, she was famous for her pies that she baked for the Knights of Columbus Fish Fry's. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Bloom and Kathie Soroka of Oscoda; significant other, Bud Smith of Yuma, AZ; grandchildren, Jason (DeDee) Sabin of Grand Rapids, Shannon (Ryan) Story of Greenbush, Sarah Travis of Oscoda, James (Christine) Beckner of Oscoda, Mark Soroka of Oscoda, and Joe Beckner of Oscoda; great grandchildren, Even, Alyssa, Aaron, Katy, Ion, Brody, Ryan, Raelyn, and Adrian Kate; two sisters, Bea Campbell of OK and Zora Belcher of Tuscon, AZ, and one brother, Leo Six of Niles, MI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Sabin. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of her life on Sat, Sep 6, 2008 from 2 to 6 pm at the American Legion Hall at 349 South State St. in Oscoda, MI. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation because of her great grandson Ryan; or the American Cancer Society because of her great granddaughter, Katy. Arrangements were handled by the Buresh & Bennett Funeral Home in Oscoda.
