Thomas L. Elliott, 76, lifetime Lapeer resident, died Sun, Jan 18, 2015.
Tom was born Mar 27, 1938, in Lapeer, to parents Howard and Dorothy (Kile) Elliott. He graduated in 1956 from Lapeer High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Elliott married Hazel Hutchinson Smith in 1972.
He worked over 30 years at General Motors, retiring in 1991 as an inspector. Tom attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer. He was an avid bowler at Gerlach’s Bowling Center, where he had many friends. Mr. Elliott, along with his brother Jim, bowled together on the same Tue night league for over 50 years each. He also enjoyed golfing, dancing, and all sports… especially U of M sports and Detroit Tiger Baseball. He was a member of Lapeer Fraternal Order of Eagles #2427 and American Legion Post #16. Tom especially loved spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Elliott is survived by his children, Tom Elliott of Lapeer, Tim Elliott of Lapeer and Scott Smith of Lapeer; grandchildren, Timothy Elliott, Thomas Elliott, Jr., Lauren Zwar, Holly Greenlaw, Tristin Elliott, Tyler Elliott, Daniel Elliott, Madison Elliott and Breann Elliott; great-grandchildren, Jason Elliott and Peyton Greenlaw; brother, Jim Elliott of Lapeer.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; and parents, Dorothy and Howard.

Funeral services for Tom will be 11am Wed, Jan 21, 2015 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer.
Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lapeer, with military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post #16 Honor Guard.
