Theresa Irene Schultz, 91 of Old Town, FL and formerly of Kalkaska, passed away Feb 25, 2011 in Gainesville, FL after a brief illness. She was born Feb 24, 1920 in Payne, OH the daughter of Carl and Jessie (Turner) Buerkle.
Theresa is survived by her children, Carl (Joyce) Schultz of Old Town, FL and Emma (Ken) TeBeau of Jerome, MI; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Also surviving are half brothers, Raymond (Marjorie) Buerkle, Robert (Karen) Buerkle, and David (Jill) Buerkle, and half sister, Cecilia (Nick) Bond.
Preceding her in death was her sister, Evelyn (Lewis) Crain; half sister, LaDonna (Carless) Smith; half brothers, Carl W. Buerkle and Daniel (Antoinette) Buerkle; and her brother, Paulus, and sister, Helen, who both died in infancy.
Theresa worked for many years at Community Drugs in Kalkaska. She loved gardening, sewing, crossword puzzles, and reading. She was often the neighborhood babysitter and caretaker of many stray animals. She will be sadly missed by many.
Per her request cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
