Theodore Birgy, 84, of Kalkaska, died Sunday evening, May 5, 1991 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Birgy had been a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County, and was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Fife Lake and the Boardman Area Senior Citizens Club. For 24 years, he served as a Kalkaska County Road Commissioner. He enjoyed hunting.
Mr. Birgy was born in Kalkaska County on Aug 2, 1906 to Joseph and Katherine Wagner Birgy. On March 29, 1929, in Walton, Kentucky, he was united in marriage with Ursal Nelson who survives.
Also surviving are oen daughter, Julie Demars of Kalkaska, Julie Demars of Kalkaska; two brothers, Otto and Derwood Birgy both of Fife Lake; two sisters, Mary Lund of Effie, MN and Ruth Beckering of Fife Lake; and two grandchildren.
Five brothers, John, Joseph, Eugene, James, and Leo, preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thu, May 9, 1991 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Fife Lake. Father Patrick J Barrett officiated. Burial was in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
A scripture service was held Wednesday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
