Steve Jezierski, 76, of Fife Lake, died Dec 15, 2001, at Munson Medical Center. He was born in Detroit on Jun 14, 1925, to Stephen and Martha (Wilkowski) Jezierski.
He was a veteran of the navy, and he married Margaret "Peggy" Wheeler on Jun 19, 1943, in Detroit. They lived there until 1974, when he retired as a Lieutenant of the Detroit Police Department after 34 years of service. Steve and Peggy moved to Fife Lake, where he was working as a court officer for Kalkaska County. He was a member of St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, a past Sergeant at Arms in the Lieutenant and Sergeants Association of the Detroit Police Department.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy; daughters Donna Marie (Raymond) Borkowski of Sterling Heights and Linda Mae (Terry) Sumpter of Melvindale; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A memorial mass has been scheduled for 11 am today (Dec 19) at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with Father Jim Holtz officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30 am.
Arrangements were made by the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
