Steve J. Jelacsity, 79, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Mar 26, 1994, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Jelacsity moved to Kalkaska County seven years ago from Southgate. He was a steel fabricator, and prior to his retirement owned and operated Eureka Steel Company in Riverview. He was a member of the Kalkaska Moose Lodge, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Mr. Jelacsity was born in Wyandotte on Nov 9, 1914, son of the late Andrew and Anastasia Matos Jelacsity. On Aug 26, 1939, in Wyandotte, he married Milka LaLosh who survives.
Also surviving are one sons, Steven Jelacsity of Cheshire, OR; one daughter, Karen Rae of New Boston; three brothers, Daniel in Hungary, Bill of DePeer, WI, and Nick of Sterling Heights; three sisters, Kathleen Jelacsity of Wyandotte, Bertha Mintz of Grosse Isle, and Marie LaBar of Southgate; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Two brothers, John and Joe Jelacsity and one sister, Anna Blacelc, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Mar 29, at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Father Patrick J. Barrett, pastor of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, officiated. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
