Stanley H. “Stan” Hall, a lifelong Oakville resident, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at home in Oakville. He was 86. Stan was born December 4, 1925 in Oakville to Richard H. and Alta (Jeffers) Hall. He grew up in Oakville and is a member of Oakville High School’s class of 1944. Stan entered the US Navy out of high school and served from 1944-1946 as a Radio Man 2nd class. He married Marie Erickson in Oakville on March 15, 1947. She preceded him in death in 2009. In addition to Oakville, Stan lived in Seattle and Spokane. He worked 36  years in the travel business, many years as a business owner before retiring in 1984 as Vice President of operations. Stan was the president of SKAL International Club in Seattle in 1971 and Spokane club in 1983. He served as post commander and adjuant of the Oakville American Legion Post #18 and was also a member of the Elma Eagles. Stan enjoyed bowling, golf and travel. He visited most countries of the world at least once. He made two trips around the world. Stan was also an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Stan is survived by his son, Wesley B. Hall (Carol Judson) of Felton, CA, granddaughter Chanda Hall, Santa Rose, CA, brother, Eugene E (Edith) Hall, Greendale, WI, sisters in law, Shirley (Gary) Joplin, Elma, Maggie Erickson, Elma, Lee Hall, Oakville, brother in law, Albert Erickson, Oakville and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Bradley J. Hall. Graveside inurnment services will be held 1 pm Monday, May 14, 2012 at Masonic Cemetery in Elma. A reception will follow at the Friends of the Library (Legion Hall) in Oakville following the graveside. The family suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Aberdeen PAWS 800 West 1st Street Aberdeen, WA 98520.
