Shirley J. Andrews, 84, of Kalkaska, passed away peacefully on Jul 28, 2010 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center - LTC. She was born on Jun 2, 1926 in Muir, the daughter of the late Alexander and Jessie (Lowe) Simpson.
Shirley retired from Kalkaska Public Schools where she worked for many years in the lunch program. She very much enjoyed the time she spent in the last few years with the ladies in her "swim club."
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bernard Andrews; and her daughter, Kathleen Peek.
Surviving Shirley are her two sons, Steve (Debbie) Andrews of Perry and Keith (Connie) Andrews of Guyton, GA; her five grandchildren, Tammy (Todd) Zalucky, Jennifer Andrews, Tracey Andrews, Justin Andrews, Stephanie (Matt) Moreland; her great grandson, Joshua Zalucky; her sister, Florence Churchill; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place per Shirley's wishes.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska on a date and time yet to be determined.
