Shane Howell Watkins, 32, went home to be with his dad on Tuesday, July 28, 2009. He was born on January 19, 1977 to Chuck and Bonnie (Root) Watkins in Traverse City.
Shane loved being with his family, especially his dear nephew Chase who blessed us all with his arrival 3 ½ years ago. Shane loved music, making people laugh, and the Detroit Tigers. He worked at the Wal-Mart in New Castle, Pennsylvania before moving to Kalkaska.
Shane leaves behind his devoted mother, Bonnie Watkins of Kalkaska; his loving sister, Katina (Paul) Banko of Kalkaska; his cherished niece and nephew, Pauline Root and Chase Banko; his precious great-nieces, Trinity and Lilly Jo Nelson; and many aunts and uncles.
Shane was preceded in death by his dad, Chuck and his grandmothers, Vada Watkins and Dorothy Root.
Visitation for Shane will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1 at 2:00 at the funeral home with David W. O'Neill officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona.
