Scott Harbaugh Sr., a longtime resident of Ashland, Ohio, and recent resident of Spearfish, South Dakota, passed away on August 6th, 2024 in Cody, Wyoming. He was 67 years old.
Born on November 27th, 1956, in Lodi, Ohio, Scott was known for his strong work ethic. He spent many years in the farming and milking industry before transitioning to roles at Timken, Home Hardware, and most recently, Chandler Systems Inc. Throughout his career, colleagues valued his honesty, insightful advice, and playful demeanor.
Upon retirement, Scott embraced his passion for travel, exploring the country with his wife, Donna, in their camper. They visited numerous National Parks, including Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain, and the Badlands. Scott recently re-discovered an interest in learning guitar, adding another creative outlet to his life. When not on the road, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his children and grandchildren.
Scott is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Harbaugh; his sons, Scott (Amanda) Harbaugh Jr and Cody Harbaugh; his daughter, Haley Harbaugh; his stepson, DJ (Liz) Case; his stepdaughter, Megan (Fred) Howell; his brothers, Robert (Barb) and Phil (Sharon) Harbaugh; and 13 cherished grandchildren and step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, John (Judy) Harbaugh.
A memorial service will be held on September 12th, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church in Ashland, Ohio. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Scott’s memory to the National Park Service Tree Program.
Scott leaves behind a legacy of hard work, adventure, and a deep love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
