Samuel M Lanning, 82, 723 W. Chestnut St, died Sunday in Blackford County Hospital.
He retired in 1965 from Overhead Door Co.
He was a member of Moose Lodge 225, Dad’s of Amvets 23, and First Christian Church of Hartford City.
He is survived by a daughter, Helen (Mrs. Kenneth) Bennett, Hartford City; four half-sisters, Marie (Mrs. Hervey) Bellemore, Leesburg, FL, Hazel Spangler, Elkhart, Ruth E. Flatter, Hartford City, and Ruth Lanning McAdow, Cedar Springs, MI; a half brother, Harry Slentz, Hartford City; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; four great grandchildren, and 9 step great grandchildren.
Services will be at 10am Wednesday in Keplinger Funeral Home, with Rev. David Baughman and Rev. Robert Neel officiating.
Burial will be Montpelier IOOF Cemetery.
Calling will be at the funeral home 3 to 9 pm today.
