Ruth Olive Gillette, 83, of Bel Forest Convalescent Center, Bel Air, MD and formerly of Louise Ave, Dowagiac, died Wednesday morning Dec 23, in the convalescent center. Mrs. Gillette was a retired school teacher from the Oak Street School in Dowagiac. She was born Jan 31, 1909 in Dowagiac, and resided most of her life in Dowagiac, moving to Bel Air, MD, in August 1987. On Sep 20, 1930 in Elkhart, as Ruth Olive Atwood, she married V. Max Gillette. He died Mar 8, 1976. Surviving are a son, V. Robert of Bel Air; and one granddaughter.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until 2 pm Monday at McLauclin-clark Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dowagiac Public Library.
