Ruth Fleetwood, 77 years young, died on Dec 23, 2013 at Prince William County Hospital in Manassas, VA.
She was a life long native of Manassas, born in a home that resided on the very location of the Manassas VRE, on Jan 14, 1936; one of three children to Martin Lynch and Daisy Walters Lynch. Her marriage to Larry Fleetwood on Feb 28, 1956, continued for over 52 years until his passing on Aug 3, 2008.
She was a graduate of the class of 1954 at the original Osbourn High School. She worked for over twenty years at the old Piedmont Federal Savings Bank.
She is survived by a son, Brad Fleetwood and his wife, Janet, and two grandchildren, Sara and Joshua, of Arlington, VA; a daughter, Lorna (Joie) Fleetwood and her partner Holly Hart of Auburn, CA; a brother, Martin Lynch of Charlotte, NC; a brother in law, Bernie Fleetwood and his wife Jeanie, of San Marco Island, FL; a sister in law, Betsy Fleetwood, of Grand Rapids, MI; a sister in law, Julie Fleetwood Binn of Bellingham, WA, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Zingelmann.
The family will receive friends on Thu, Dec 26, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at Pierce Funeral Home, Manassas, VA. A memorial service will be held on Fri, Dec 27, 2013 at 11am at Pierce Funeral Home. Inurment will be private.
