Russell N. Elzay, 69, of Rt 1 died at 12:30pm Wed at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born Jan 21, 1905 in Ada, he was a son of Hiram and Huldah Hoy Elzay. On Nov. 21, 1924, he married Mary Hixon, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clair (Dorothy) Withrow of Rt. 4, Findlay, and Mrs. James (Joan) Scott of Rt. 1, Bluffton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Koontz of here and Mrs. Lavonne Magley of Clearwater, FL.
A former Orange Township trustee, Mr. Elzay was a past direct of the Bluffton Senior Citizens, Hancock-Wood Electric co-op and Bluffton Farmers Grain Co. He was also a trustee and Sunday school teacher at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Services will be held at 2pm Fri in Paul Diller and sons Funeral Chapel, Rev. Walter Gunther and Rev. Paul Strouse officiating. Burial will be in Clymer Cemetery.
