Russell was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his son, Russell Tyler Marois of Kingsley; brother, Michael (Deborah) Marois of Traverse City; sisters, Diana Martin of Kalkaska, Cheryl (Jim) McIntire of Kalkaska, Toni (Jake) Watrous of Santa Rose, TX; Mimi (Brad) Gribi of Elk Rapids; stepfather, Ted Dewey of Rapid City; and several cousins, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger J Marois and Geraldine Dewey.
He loved his son Tyler, and all of his family, and football, baseball, and fishing. He was dearly loved by the ones he left behind.
