Mr. Rudolph Dolezal, 78, of Rapid City, died Oct 2, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Dolezal was born in Dillonvale, OH on May 22, 1920 the son of the late James and Josephine Houdek Dolezal. He married Dorothy McNamara in Alden on Nov 25, 1969.
Mr. Dolezal had been a resident of Kalkaska County for the past 50 years. He formerly owned and operated the Crossroads Bar, was a school bus driver, and prior to his retirement was a rural mail carrier at the Rapid City and Alden post offices. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a member of Land O'Lakes VFW Post 8684.
Surviving are wife Dorothy; son Greg (Patricia) Dolezal of Canal Fulton, OH; daughter Denise (Edward) Hanzel of Chesterland, OH; stepdaughters Judy (William) Simpson of Mancelona and Mary (Keith) Mickelson of Traverse City; brothers Carl (Jennie) Dolezal of Bedford Heights, OH and George (Mary Ann) Sleger of Cleveland, OH; sister, Tillie Endo of Overlook Park, KS; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Brother Joseph and sisters Helen, Mary, and Bessie preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Oct 4, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges officiated. Cremation followed.
Military rites were under the auspices of Land O'Lakes VFW Post 8684.
