Ruby Kaulay James, 75, of Peshawbetown, died Nov 1, 2001, at Northport Long Term Facility in Northport. She was born May 16, 1926, to Casper Joseph (Fritz) and Florence Calisay Kaulay in Carnegie, OK.
Mrs. James married Frank James on Jul 29, 1950, in Lawton, OK. She was an enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe. She was also a member of the Cache Creek Methodist Church of Carnegie, OK. She attended numerous churches in Michigan.
She is survived by her husband Frank; daughters, Melvina Cooper of Anadarko, OK and Doris Geionety of Jay, OK; special niece Cora Sue Thompson of Gotebo, OK; 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother Julia Yeahquo Ahdoye, a son of Bobby Lee Saddleblanket, grandson Kevin Saddleblanket, great grandson Dustinelee Sandblanket, sister Arletta Thornton, aunt Geraldine Kauyedauty Redbone, nephews Jimmy Lee Kaulay and Raymond Thornton, and a niece, Evelyn Thornton.
A wake service was held Nov 4, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Funeral services were held Nov 5, Rev Jimmy Bearshield officiated. Interment was in Oliver Township Cemetery.
