Rosamond Rovena Niles, of Cadillac, passed away Mon, Mar 4, 2013, at her home. She was 95.
She was born Nov 28, 1917, in Traverse City, to Russell and Evelyn (Redden) Robinson. Rosamond enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making mittens for children and watching TV.
Rosamond is survived by her son, Daniel (Julie Ward) Niles, and six daughters, Nancy Crow of Traverse City, Evelyn “Billie” (Don) Podbilski of Lansing, Lois Lang of NC, Georgia “George” (Paul) Goostrey of Hastings, Janice Mason of Lake City, and Mildred “Beb” (Herb) Slagle of Cadillac. Mrs. Niles is also survived by three sisters, Helen Gould of Millington, Katherine Hamilton of AZ, and Patricia (Bill) Arlt of Cadillac; and two brothers, Karl Robinson of AZ, and Charles (Jean) Robinson of Cadillac. Also surviving Mrs. Niles are 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Tracey Niles; her parents, Russell and Evelyn Robinson; a twin sister, Rosella; a brother, Warren Robinson; a sister, Olive Priddle; three infant children, James, Ann Shirley, Russell; and one granddaughter, Terry Lynne Gilde.
Funeral services are Thu, Mar 7, 2013, at 4 pm. Officiating will be Pastor Troy Baxter. Visitation will be Wed, Mar 6, 2013, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a food pantry or the Family Food Bank.
