Ronald W. Stebbins, 64, of St Johns, died Aug 26, 1999. 

He was born in Kalkaska on May 21, 1935, the son of William and Annabelle (Butler) Stebbins, and lived most of his life in Ithaca and Breckenridge before setting in St. Johns. 

Mr. Stebbins was the former general manager of B&W Co-op in Breckenridge, received the State Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award in 1974, was honored as Agri-Businessman of the Year in 1986, was former president of Michigan Agri-Business Association, served on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Bean Shippers Association, was elected president of the Michigan Grain & Agri-Dealers Association in 1990, retired from MABA in 1994, and received a U.S. Congressional Accommodation for Dedication, Professionalism, and Caring in 1995. He was the former president of the Ithaca Jaycees, a former member of the Rotary Club of Breckenridge, a member of the former Clinton County Country Club, former board member with the Bank of Alma, councilman for the city of Ithaca, was the recipient of a Congressional Award from Gov. John Engler, served as director of the Gratiot Community Hospital board in the 1990's, and received the Distinguished Service Award form MSU for agriculture and natural resources in 1996. 

Mr. Stebbins married Mary Kay Cleek in Kalkaska on Aug 27, 1955, ad she preceded him in death Jun 7, 1998. 

Surviving are sons Michael (Cheryl) Stebbins of Fort Wayne, IN, and Robert (Nancy) Stebbins of Boston, MA; daughter Julie (Rick) Boertmann of Ann Arbor; grandchildren Daniel, Matthew, Bryant, Ronda, and Jacob; brothers Lawrence (Marilyn) Stebbins of Fruitport and Rev. Allen (Kay) Stebbins of Saginaw; and sisters Kathryn (Marvin) Clark of Sweetser, IN, Wilma (Ray) Wilcox of Metamora, Athelia (Walter) Hoagsman of Tawas City, Darlene (Bill) Harris and Gayle (Bob) Fink, both of Perry, and Annette (Bob) Alford of Mason. 

Funeral services were Aug 30 at Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns. Burial was at Mount Rest Cemetery; Rev. Steve Weinberger officiated. 

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the First United Methodist Church of St Johns.
