Ronald LaForest, 66, of Kalkaska passed away on Mon, Jul 15, 2002. Ron was born in River Rouge Oct 19, 1935 to Clayton and Lavina (LaBean) LaForest. He married Joyce Dupuie, who survives, on Jun 29, 1957, in River Rouge and to this union was born, Marvin, Thomas (Michelle), Timothy (Michele), Michael (Karen), and Lisa (John). Also Kim who is deceased. He is survived by his brothers, James (Sandy) LaForest of Sterling, and Robert (Margaret) LaForest of Southgate, and sisters, Judy (Chester) Matijega of Pinconning, and Patricia LaForest of Detroit; his grandchildren; Joshua, Christal, Jennifer, Melisa, Tricia, Thomas, Nichol, Lacey, Jewell, Catlin, Alicia, Joel, and great grandchildren, Noah, Zoe, and Isabelle.
Ron raised his family in Kalkaska where they were members of St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. He was a multi-talented man who never hesitated to use his knowledge to help others. He only asked that they pass the favor on to someone else who needed help. He passed away with is loving family at his bedside.
Funeral services were held Jul 18, at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, with Father Jim Holtz officiating. Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements were handled by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
