Ronald Harris, 78, of Williamsburg, passed away on Sun, Feb 2, 2020. He was born in Toledo, OH, on Apr 6, 1941 to Eugene Harris and Lois Hayes.
Ronald was a toolmaker employed by PICO (Progressive Tool, later Comau) for most of his career and retired in 2007. As such he was always a "tinkerer." If it was broken, he could fix it. Heck, if it wasn't broken, he could make it better!
In 2011, Ron moved to the Traverse City area to enjoy his retirement years. He loved watching his grandkids play sports. YOu could count on Grandpa to be in the bleachers, on the sidelines, even on top of the ski hill cheering his grandkids on. He even pitched in for coaching duty.
Golf was a major part of his life, and he enjoyed being part of the Association of Single Golfers. In his later years when his health started to fail, he missed the fellowship of his golfing "buddies."
Ronald is survived by his children, Ron (Tania) Harris and Angela (Craig) Kilmer; and his beautiful grandchildren, Philipp, Claudia, and Macauley.
Visitation will be held at Covell Funeral Home, 232 E. State St, Traverse City, on Fri Feb 7, 2020 from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by a brief service.
