Roger L Eckhardt, 56, a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County, died Wed, May 5, 1999 at his residence.
Roger was a graduate of Kalkaska High School, and owned and operated Roger's Body Shop for many years. He was later employed by Dowell Division of Dow Chemical Company. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eagles Lodge of Grayling. His hobbies were hunting and fishing.
Roger was born in Kalkaska County on Dec 14, 1942, to Roy and Catherine O'Neal Eckhardt.
On Aug 7, 1976, in Kalkaska County, he married Viva Rader, who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by son Bradley (Traci) Eckhardt of Charlevoix; daughter Kimberly (Mark) Brooks of Aurora, CO; two stepchildren; sister Joyce (Gordon) Driescens of Yuma, AZ; three grandchildren and four step grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 8, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Pastor David Rosenberg officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
