Rodney Brunett, 73, of Fife Lake, died Wed morning, September 27, 2006, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, after a short illness. He was born May 3, 1933, in Liberty Township near Manton, to Gorvel and Wanda (Foxworthy) Brunett.
Rodney grew up and lived most of his life in Fife Lake. He graduated from Manton High School in 1951 and served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. Spending part of that time in Germany.
He retired in 1989 from the Traverse City State Hospital after 27 years of employment. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Fife Lake for his entire life.
Rodney enjoyed old cars and reading but his family was the most important part of his life, and he loved them dearly.
He is survived by his former wife, Marjorie Brunett, of South Boardman; son, Mark (Iola Christensen) Brunett of Fife Lake; daughter, Kendra (Doug Aller) Steeby of Fife Lake; brother, Leslie Brunett of Farmington Hills; sister, Edna Gerring of Fife Lake; and grandson, Tyler Steeby of Fife Lake.
Rodney was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Heister; and brother, Neil Brunett.
Visitation will be today, September 29, from 6 - 8 pm at St. Aloysius church in Fife Lake. A funeral service will be held Sat, September 30 at 11 am, also at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being made by the Hall Funeral Chapel in Manton
