Robert H. Stacy, Sr, 62, Gallatin, MO, retired deputy regional administrator for the General Services Administration here, died yesterday after suffering a heart attack at the home of a son, James M. Stacy, 321 Ward Parkway.

Mr. Stacy was born in Peoria, Ill., and had lived here 39 years before moving to Gallatin in July. He was graduated from Bradley University in 1932 and moved here in 1933 going to work for Dunn & Bradstreet. In 1935 he went to work for the federal government and held positions in the Works Progress Administration, the Central Administrative Service, and the War Assets Administration.

He retired June 30 as deputy regional administrator and regional director of finance and administration for the GSA. Mr. Stacy received the Administrator’s Award, the GSA’s highest distinction.

He was first president of the Kansas City Federal Association and former president of the Gen Sirs Chapter of Toastmasters International. Mr. Stacy was a member of the Gallatin Rotary Club.

He was a former accounting instructor for Rockhurst College. Mr. Stacy was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

He also leaves his wife, Mrs. Loretta M. Stacy of the home; two sons, R. William Stacy, Jr., 8309 Maywood Raytown, and John P Stacy, 5640 E. 101st Terrace; a daughter, Mrs. Sheila K Johnson, El Dorado, KS; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Burroughs, Indianapolis; Mrs. Cecilia Lamport, New Castle, Ind and Mrs. Margaret Jeffries, Omaha, and three grandchildren. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church; burial in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the McGilley Midtown Chapel. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
