Robert “Bob” Lee Hayward, Sr., 80, of Marlette, MI passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at his home.
Bob was born in Marlette on January 15, 1945 to the late Kenneth and Shirley (Westover) Hayward. He graduated from Marlette High School with the Class of 1963. Bob would marry Diane Fuller on August 13, 1966 in Brown City. She preceded him in death on February 27, 2021. Bob worked as a line technician for Champion Mobile Homes and was a lifetime Marlette resident. Bob was a devoted Christian and a strong man of faith. He was involved with several churches, youth groups and was a baptismal minister. Bob enjoyed reading the Bible and serving the Lord. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and would dress up as Santa Claus for family parties and group homes. He also enjoyed hunting in his spare time.
Bob is survived by his children, Kimberly Warner, Robert Hayward Jr., Randy Hayward, and Rebekah (Michael) Perales; honorary daughter-in-law, Melissa Hayward; grandchildren, Stephen, Casey, Caitlin, Kirsten, Lacey ,Brandon, Justin, Randy Jr, Kyle, Riley, Sarah, Sophia, Drew, Norah, Morgan, and Ellie; many greatgrandchildren; siblings, Ronald Hayward, Brenda Owens, Sandra Bennett, Debbie Hayward, and Pamela Owens; many, many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Diane Hayward; his dog, Molly; parents, Kenneth and Shirley; his brothers, Delbert Hayward, and James Hayward; and mother in law, Lillian Fuller.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Marsh Funeral Chapel, 2675 Main St, Marlette, Mi 48453.
